I
picked up the pencil long before I ever picked up
the drum stick. Music, being a more socially interactive
medium, and viscerally tangible experience (vibration),
gradually consumed me to the unfortunate exclusion
of the graphic arts. The result being that the art
you neglect suffers and therefore as my ability slowly
began to atrophy, I got less and less satisfaction
and more frustration out of drawing.
Only the most inspiring circumstances provided me
with the motivation to see a work through to the end.
So what you see are the results of moments in time
when I was sufficiently inspired to complete an endeavor,
which were unfortunately few and far between (not
to mention the works that have simply been lost over
time). I don't consider myself an artist (someone
with an original vision), but rather an "illustrator".
